About Us
Spanning more than one hectare, the museum features over 20 historical buildings and more than 12,000 artifacts, allowing visitors to explore original structures like a church, schoolhouse, and blacksmith’s shop, and to experience interactive demonstrations of traditional crafts and skills.
It offers an immersive, hands-on journey into local history, making it a vibrant window into the challenges and ingenuity of the area’s pioneers and a memorable destination for people of all ages.
The museum is run by a team of volunteers from the local Fraser Coast community who are keen to showcase the Hervey Bay history.
The Fraser Coast Council provided ongoing support for all events held at the Hervey Bay Historical Village & Museum.
